Age: I am 29 years old! Home: I lived most of my life in the small Derbyshire village of Coal Aston in the North of England. This village lies almost exactly on the Derbyshire-Yorkshire border, and is close to the city of Sheffield, as well as being near to the Peak District National Park and numerous small coal mining villages of East Derbyshire. I currently
live in the German city of Siegen. Siegen is a small city, surrounded
by forest, in the German state of North Rhine Westphalia. It is about
1 hours drive east of cologne. I am proud of my native and adopted homes. Hobbies: English literature, walking in the woods, playing the guitar badly, reading and books. Sports: Walking, cycling, and swimming. Personality: I am quiet and thoughtful. I am however ambitious, hard working and dedicated at my work. My interest in biology: I love biology! I have always been interested in it and have known since I was small that I wanted to work in some kind of biological vocation. I have always had a strong interest in nature, wildlife and animals. This was probably because I was always surrounded by animals. My family kept a small farm where we kept chickens, ducks, sheep, and goats. I myself kept and bred quail and canaries for many years. I have a parrot called Percy, who was left when my Grandfather died. I love science and biology research! People think you have to be clever to be a scientist, this is wrong! It simply needs dedication and a love of what you do. Science is actually very creative- thinking up new ideas, new methods and experimental techniques, and developing new unthought of conclusions is a very creative process.
Personal Motto: Don't trust people who don't like dogs! People with a poor attitude towards animals often have a poor attitude towards people as well.
